Welcome to part 2 of my fairy tea party ideas post – fairy tea party food ideas! This fairy tea party was a summer party I hosted for my daughter’s 9th birthday.
In the last post, I shared all the details of the fairy tea party decorations. This post is all about the food! And tea of course 🙂
Fairy Tea Party Food
Our little fairy guests drank raspberry tea with milk and sugar, and Berry Nectar (mixed berry juice + Sprite). The raspberry tea was a lovely pink color, and so fresh and fitting for a fairy tea I think!
The girls snacked on macarons, blueberry scones, cherry strudels, raspberry lemon cheesecake pops, and fresh green grapes.
Aside from the tea treats, we also had cheese and sausage mini croissant sandwiches, pretzels, potato chips, fresh veggies and dip, watermelon, cantaloupe, cherries, blueberries and strawberries. But this turned out to be way too much food for a hot day and in-between meal times.
I used my printable fairy buffet cards to label everything on the food table.
Fairy Birthday Cake
Even though everyone had plenty of tea treats and other food, I still made birthday cake and forced them to eat it 🙂 It’s a birthday, so cake is a requirement. Of course, it didn’t take a lot of force — everyone who had some, ate it all (yes it was amazing, if I do say so myself, ha!)
I made chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, and decorated them with gold glitter cupcake wrappers and flower fairy toppers.
I also made a layered vanilla cake with vanilla cream cheese buttercream, adorned with blueberries and real flowers. It was inspired by this baby shower cake.
If you love cream cheese frosting, you will LOVE this buttercream recipe from Glorious Treats blog, I couldn’t get enough of it and I will be making again (it’s the best ever!).
Since it was quite a hot day and my daughter loves ice cream, we also had strawberry swirl ice cream served with the cake.
