Today I’m sharing my daughter’s Sweet Shoppe Party for her 8th birthday, and you won’t believe how easy this theme is!

Candy Parties Are Easy
In this case, our “Sweet Shoppe” was a candy bar, which I gotta say, I highly recommend!
All you have to do is buy a variety of candy and fill them in jars or bowls, and you have a popular, fun and eye catching desert table!

No baking themed treats, no sourcing bakers for custom deserts; all you have to do is buy candy. I thought our ice cream party a few years ago was easy, but this one beats it!
“Shopping” For Candy is Fun
Not only is the candy easy prep for you, and a hit with your guests, it’s also a fun activity at the party!

Near the end of the party, we gave our little guests each an empty paper bag, and they lined up to “shop” at Taylor’s Sweet Shoppe.

My daughter stood behind the counter and helped them get the right amounts, so everyone got an equal share. That was a dream come true for her!
And the kids thought it was a blast too. Getting to fill your own bag with candy you choose, is a lot more fun than being handed a bag full of candy right?! And how often do parents let their kids fill a bag of candy? It’s like trick or treating. So fun!
Sweet Shoppe Party Printables
Okay let’s talk decor and how I brought this look together. The signs and labels are from my new “Sweet Shoppe Party” collection, now available in my shop!
I personalized the labels on my computer with Adobe Reader and printed them at home.

For the favor bag labels I used white sticker paper sheets.

For the candy jar labels and the water bottle wrappers, I used white card stock paper and taped them to the jars and bottles.

I printed the “Good Ship Lollipop” sign and the Sweet Treats sign with my home printer on cardstock as well. Then I used clear standing frames from the dollar store to display them.

The personalized “Sweet Shoppe” sign is 11×14 inches so I had it printed at a local photo lab.

I didn’t use all of the matching decor from this party set, but you can find these in my shop too:
- “Sweet Shoppe” Flag Banner
- “Happy Birthday” Flag Banner
- Custom 8×10 and 5×7 Signs
- Tent Cards
- Party Circles (Cupcake Toppers, Favor Tags, etc)
And there’s a matching “Sweet Celebration” birthday invitation as well!
More Sweet Shoppe Party Decor

I used a wood lemonade stand that my husband and I made in the summer. I love that I can use it for so many party themes and holidays!

The gorgeouse balloon arch is a DIY kit that I bought from Amazon, and I probably used not much more than half the balloons it came with! This is a fantastic option for those of us on a budget, with a lot of hot air and big party dreams!
Like the clear plastic frames I mentioned before, the candy jars were very affordable from the dollar store,
And the rest of the white cake stands I already had. So I didn’t need to spend a lot for this party theme.
I hope you like this party as much as I do! Be sure to pin it for later!
