I planned this beautiful floral fairy tea party for my daughter’s 9th birthday. Take a look at all the lovely details, and see how you can create a beautiful fairy tea party too!
Fairy Tea Party Ideas
I have so many pictures and details to share about this party. So to avoid a massive, never ending blog post, I’m going to break this up into bite-sized pieces. This is part 1 – the decorations. Scroll to the bottom to find links to the other parts!
Fairy Tea Party Decorations
I think this party is both elegant and rustic. It’s not a formal high tea, it’s an earthy, floral fairy tea party, as I imagine real fairies would have.
My party inspiration began with my new fairy party printables. I love the combination of soft pink and coral flowers, light greenery, and little pops of blue, yellow and white. Plus, a sparkle of gold for a fairy touch!
Here’s the party table set out with tea cups and treats and cake. I put all the deserts on this table instead of having a separate desert table, so the girls could reach and nibble while they sipped their tea.
My husband built this table for us, and we used log slices for seats. They’ll be used for many parties and gatherings to come, I’m sure!
DIY Floral Hoop Backdrop
The floral hoops were my DIY project for this party. They made the table a focal point out in the open yard (aka the magical forest).
They were actually pretty easy to make, and I saved a lot of money making them myself. I didn’t even have to use hot glue and burn myself and get strings of glue everywhere, win!
I used floral wire, silk flowers, and embroidery hoops. They’re hung with fishing line from the tree branches hanging over the table.
Fairy Tea Party Table Decor
I used wood slices for platters and a tiered cupcake stand, they’re so earthy and woodsy! I love how they contrast with the white doilies, the gold glitter, the china tea cups and saucers, and the soft, pastel flowers.
These sweet flower fairy cupcake toppers were from Amazon, click here to check them out!
Believe it or not, I found this perfect table runner at the dollar store! In the craft section. It came on a roll, and turned out to be the perfect size for a table runner. I always check the craft section for party decorations, and sometimes thinking outside the box a little, you can find some great party items there!
The mason jar vases were painted by me, and the pretty bird buckets and daisies were another awesome dollar store find.
The clay mushrooms, mushroom tea pot and fairy house teapot were cute little additions that added a woodland fairy touch.
I added two mini signs with sweet fairy quotes in gold frames, they’re available in my shop here.
I think that’s all the decoration ideas, but if you have any questions for me just leave a comment! And please be sure to Pin this post for later!

Hello, love your tea party pictures. I am planning one and would like to know where the pink square plates came from? I cannot find anything like those. Thanks!
Thank you Lisa! The square pink plates were from Dollarama 🙂
Hi, this is perfect. I am looking to do something similar for my daughter’s 10th. Could you please share where I can get some of the slice wood platters or sources for anything for that matter?
Hi Saanj, I don’t have a source for the wood platters unfortunately, I bought them locally from a person selling them for wedding and craft use. I would suggest looking on Marketplace, Craigslist etc. for them, I see them sold as used wedding décor or rentals. I bought the tea cups, saucers and tea pots at thrift stores; daisy flowers, buckets, mushrooms, doilies and table runner at Dollarama, floral hoops supplies at Michaels. The fairy party printables are available in my Etsy shop IWatchThemGrow 🙂 Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂
