Purple is my daughter’s absolute favorite color, so for her 2nd birthday I threw her a purple birthday party. She was in heaven.
All of the party decorations and supplies were from the dollar store, Walmart, and Michael’s Craft store. I couldn’t find any purple party supplies in the dollar stores, but luckily Walmart had plenty of purple cups, plates, napkins and tablecloths. I used gift tissue paper to create the purple flower decorations, purple crepe paper for the table backdrop and purple patterned scrapbook paper from Michael’s to make the flag bunting.
The picture frame was an unfinished wood frame from Michael’s that I painted with purple craft paint and added a picture of the guest of honor in her purple tutu sitting on her purple chair in her purple room 🙂
The purple candle rings with butterflies were a dollar store find that inspired the butterflies I added to the cupcake picks and water bottle labels (a customized version of the free template you can download here).
I served purple punch, grape juice boxes, purple fruit, purple candy and even purple tortilla chips to go with the theme. And of course the birthday girl enjoyed her cupcake with purple icing 🙂
I just love how this purple birthday party turned out and how easily it came together. Doing a color as a party theme is really a great way to go – it’s affordable, easy and festive!
